Piolo Jose Nonato Pascual, born on January 12, 1977, is a well-known Filipino actor, singer, host, model, and film producer. He has received numerous awards, including six FAMAS Awards, nine PMPC Star Awards for Movies, and a Gawad Urian Award.
Pascual started his career in 1993 with a small role in the film The Vizconde Massacre Story (God Help Us!) and made his television debut on the youth talent show, That’s Entertainment. He gained popularity when he was cast as the lead opposite Judy Ann Santos in the classic soap opera Esperanza in 1997. They collaborated on several other projects, including the series Sa Puso Ko Iingatan Ka (2001-2003), Sa Piling Mo (2006), and films like Bakit ‘Di Totoohanin (2001), Till There Was You (2003), and Don’t Give Up on Us (2006). In 2002, he starred in the historical film Dekada ’70 with Vilma Santos and Christopher de Leon, winning Best Supporting Actor at the 2003 PMPC Star Awards for Movies, FAMAS Awards, and Gawad Urian Awards.
In 2008, Pascual led the popular supernatural drama series Lobo alongside Angel Locsin. He appeared in the neo-noir crime thriller On the Job in 2013, which was showcased at the Cannes Film Festival and the 17th Puchon International Fantastic Film Festival in South Korea. He also produced films like the Kimmy Dora series (2009-2013) and Kita Kita (2017). In 2018, he returned to television with the drama series Since I Found You, and in 2022, he starred in the remake of Flower of Evil with Lovi Poe.
With over thirty years in the industry and critical acclaim both in the Philippines and abroad, he has established himself as “Asia’s Drama Superstar.”
